An ergonomics evaluator will assess the individual’s work area for risk and assist them in making immediate changes to their equipment and accessories. We document the physical dimensions and fit of the work area and identify mismatches between the individual and their work space.
We also spend time coaching the employee on appropriate postures and behaviours to reduce MSI symptoms, and make additional recommendations (if necessary) for specific ergonomic equipment. Each employee is provided with individual stretches, as appropriate, to reduce their particular discomforts, as well as coaching points to encourage overall healthy posture and movement habits.
Employees are also provided with a detailed reference booklet to remind them of healthy posture and movement, appropriate equipment set up, and simple recovery habits. The assessment is followed up with a comprehensive report documenting identified risks in the work area, recommended behavioural solutions, and recommended equipment solutions.
