What's Involved?
Remote Spot checks are short, screening assessments suitable for workers without significant discomfort who want some guidance to ensure their home office environment is meeting their ergonomíc needs.
Home office ergonomic spot checks are performed individually or in small groups through a remote interface (such as Zoom) that can work with your organization’s security requirements. A MoveSafe ergonomics consultant will guide the employee on basic adjustment, modification and repositioning of existing chairs and other equipment. We’ll provide simple tips to help improve the fit of the work area. MoveSafe consultants will also offer behavioural cueing, and postural recommendations to improve working comfort and reduce future injury risk.
We strongly recommend that spot checks are preceded by a Home Office Ergonomics Webinar so individuals understand the basics of healthy posture and movement habits. Spot checks may be accompanied by a short e-mail with equipment recommendations (where necessary) and are not recommended as the primary solution for employees with discomfort or significant ergonomic concerns.
